Jwalamukhi MLA Sanjay Rattan has urged people to support the activities of the Red Cross Society. He was presiding over a one-day free medical camp organized by the Red Cross Society Kangra at Geeta Bhavan in Jwalamukhi on Saturday. The Chairman of District Red Cross Society Kangra-cum- Deputy Commissioner Dr. Nipun Jindal, was also present at the event.
Around 800 people benefited from the facilities at the camp.Sanjay Rattan said that the Red Cross Society plays an important role in providing support to the poor and underprivileged people. It is necessary for more and more people to get involved so that more services can be provided to the needy and helpless.
The MLA also announced a grant of Rs. 11 lakhs for the Kangra District Red Cross Society, of which Rs. 10 lakhs will be given through Jwalamukhi Temple Trust and Rs. 1 lakh will be provided from the MLA fund.Meanwhile, Dr. Nipun Jindal said that the Red Cross Society is dedicated to community service and works tirelessly to provide assistance to the underprivileged.
The Kangra District Red Cross Society will continue to work towards this goal in the future.During this, medical boards conducted health check-ups for 300 people in the disabled camp, and the Department of Health and Family Welfare conducted check-ups for 102 people, while the Department of Ayush conducted check-ups for 170 people.
Meanwhile, 76 people donated blood at the blood donation camp. Additionally, 50 beneficiaries received hygiene kits, 25 received blankets, 20 received mosquito nets, 10 received kitchenware sets, 8 received wheelchairs, 3 received hearing aids, 2 visually impaired beneficiaries received smart canes, and 1-1 CP chair, rollator walker and other assistive devices were distributed.
Various departments and self-help groups also set up developmental and product exhibitions to provide information about government welfare schemes to the people at the camp.Overall, the medical camp was a success, and the Red Cross Society received appreciation from the beneficiaries and the local community for their efforts to serve the people.
