DC reviews status of Routine Immunization in Poonch District

To take the appraisal of the health department activities, the Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet today chaired District Quality Assurance/ Task force committee meeting regarding quality assurance services and routine immunization here at conference hall of DC Office.

The meeting was attended by PO ICDS, Khalid Hussain, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Altaf Anis Nabi, Chief Education Officer, Bishamber Das, Medical Superintendent District Hospital Poonch, Dr. Zulafqar Ahmed, ARTO Poonch, Basharat Mehmood, District Immunization Officer, Dr. Zora Jabeen, BMO, Mendhar, Dr. Parviaz Ahmed Khan, BMO Surankote, Dr. Sudeshwar, BMO Mandi, Nusrat-Un-Nissa Bhatti, Councilor ward No. 4, Imtiaz Salaria besides doctors and all committee members were present in the meeting.

The DC took a detailed review of the latest status of the Routine Immunization and achievements thereof, category wise vaccination in the District and block level as well.

The CMO gave a detailed power point presentation on the component wise achievements of Routine Immunization, while DIO also briefed the chair about the block wise status and action taken by the department to cover all the school dropout children of different age groups.

The DC directed the stakeholders and those present in the meeting to conduct special immunization sessions in the left out areas to cover all drop out children in a time bound manner.

During the meeting, DC discussed the elimination of measles and Rubella diseases by providing preventive measures in the form of vaccine and to identify the left out and drop out/Infant children (6 months to 5 years )by collective approach  and it was also emphasized to collect samples vigorously silly of all cases having symptoms like fever with rashes. 

It was also discussed and emphasized that family planning programmes like lepraligation be improved by providing best quality services and by providing trend gynecologist.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the Chief Education Officer that children should be made aware about Measles, Rubella ànd routine children vaccination in the morning assembly by the doctors deputed by CMO.

He further directed the PO ICDS to depute their Anganwadi staff for the vaccination in far flung areas. The Deputy Commissioner directed all the concerned to work in close coordination to make the Routine Immunization programme successful in the District. 

He asked to put in extra measures to ensure that no children in the district were left out in the process of routine immunization.
