The great comedian Kapil Sharma never misses a chance to make people burst out of laughter. He is always seen as a fun character and no one has ever imagined him portraying a serious role. Despite being a comedian, Kapil Sharma is now coming up with a never seen avatar in his film ‘Zwigato’ which is scheduled to release on 17 March 2023. This marks Kapil's first drama film after the comedy films ‘Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karu’ and ‘Firangi’. The trailer of the film has been released.
The film Zwigato, helmed by Nandita Das stars Kapil Sharma and Shahana Goswami in lead roles. Kapil Sharma will be playing the role of Manas, a food app delivery boy where Shahana will be seen as Kapil’s on screen wife. The comedian took to his instagram and shared the trailer of the film captioning it as, “Ting Tong!Aapka Zwigato trailer deliver ho gaya hai! Please rating dena mat bhooliyega, Zwigato Trailer Out Now! #ZwigatoOn17thMarch.”

Speaking about the trailer of the film ‘Zwigato’, Kapil Sharma, who belongs to an ordinary family loses his job as factory floor manager during the pandemic and finds work as food delivery rider in a company named ‘Zwigato’. He started delivering orders to people and even clicked selfies with them just to earn a little extra amount. He works 24x7 to get the best ratings. His wife initially complains to him for not giving time to family but later starts a new job to support the family which he did not like due to his patriarchal mindset. Despite giving his best to the company, his ratings gradually started declining. Due to this he gets irritated and contacts the management who didn’t care about his problems. His struggles of life are shown and how he manages his personal life.
The trailer of the film has captured the hearts of the people and it highlights the film's social commentary. Kapil’s never seen avatar is more fascinating to the viewers and people are liking his performance as judged by the trailer. ‘Zwigato’ has been set in Bhubaneswar and had its world premiere at Toronto International Film Festival, Asian premiere at Busan International Film Festival and its Indian premiere at Kerala International Film Festival.
During the trailer launch event, Kapil spoke about his role and said that he never imagined Nandita Das would ever offer him a film. He said, “Maine zindagi mein nai socha tha, inhone ne bhi nai socha tha. I have always been a fan of Nandita, have seen Firaaq and Manto. And seeing those films, I hadn't imagined that she will ever offer me a film. Her films may be serious but in personal life she is quite funny. When you see the film, everyone will be able to relate to it.”
