The movie ‘Kantara’ directed by Rishabh Shetty was a blockbuster and very much loved by the audiences. The movie has done record breaking collections at the box-office and has gained a lot of love and praise. Rihabh Shetty announced about the second part of the film ‘Kantara’ some time ago while celebrating the 100 day success of Kantara and said that the second part will be released in 2024.

Recently Rishabh revealed some details about the film and said that his upcoming movie ‘Kantara 2’ will be a prequel to Kantara not a sequel. The story will revolve around the times many years back from the time that is shown in Kantara. He also said that the story will take place in the background of the deity. So the plot of the next part will be the events that took place many years ago from those shown in the first part. That is why it is said to be a prequel rather than a sequel.
Kantara is one of the blockbuster movies in the Sandalwood industry and also became the highest grossing film of Kannada in 2022. The film was released on 30 September 2022 and surpassed 100 days at the theatres. The movie stars Rishabh Shetty, Kishore Kumar G, Achyuth Kumar in lead roles.
