DC And SSP Exhort Youths To Play Constructive Role In Eliminating Corruption

Deputy Commissioner Jaspreet Singh and SSP Vigilance Rajeshwar Singh Sidhu today called upon the youths to play a constructive role to weed out the corruption from the country.  

Addressing the gathering during a district level seminar under Vigilance Awareness Week at Red Cross Bhawan, the deputy commissioner said that youths bear a great responsibility on their shoulders for creating a transparent system in the society. 

Since, the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led state government has already waged a decisive war against the corruption, therefore it is our collective responsibility to join hands with the government to curtail it, he added. 

Mr. Singh further said that it is high time that all of us must make a firm commitment to not to indulge in bribery practices as it was an evil for the society and needed to be eliminated as soon as possible.  

SSP Vigilance Rajeshwar Singh Sidhu said that the observation of 'Vigilance Awareness Week' aims at creating awareness and encouraging all stakeholders to collectively participate in the fight against the menace. 

He also apprised the gathering about the administrative set up of the vigilance department and the functioning of various wings. Besides, he solicited support and asked the people to give a tip-off about corrupt practices whether it is in the government or private sector.  

The SSP urged people to raise their voice against corruption by informing the vigilance department at helpline number 9501200200 so that strict action could be initiated against those involved in this malpractice. 

He said that this year's theme of the Week is 'Corruption Free India for a Developed Nation' and encouraged all stakeholders to collectively participate in the prevention of, and the fight against corruption.  

Meanwhile, participants took a pledge to raise their voice against corrupt practices by reporting the department about such incidents besides sensitizing others to adopt the same approach against this menace. Prominent amongst others present on the occasion included DCP Vatsala Gupta, Deputy DA Maneet Duggal, DSP Jatinder Singh, and Social Activist Praveen Abrol.
