The DGP added, “He is key operative & associate of #Canada-based #BKI terrorist Lakhbir Singh @ Landa. @PunjabPoliceInd will strive to make the state crime-free as per vision of CM @BhagwantMann.”
If reports are to be believed, then Charat assisted the two suspected instigators who launched the RPG into the intelligence centre by supplying shots and conducting the surveillance. Since the attack, he has been on the run. When Charat committed the crime, he was serving a 56-day parole period while serving a 10-year term in a murder case.
Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), a Khalistan terrorist organisation, and local gangsters participated in the brazen assault ordered by Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). It has also come to light that Charat Singh is a close aide of gangster Lakhbir Singh Landa, who recently shot a shopkeeper in broad daylight.
