To review the performance of PWD (R&B) in the execution of works under Capex Budget 2022-23, NABARD, CRF and Languishing Projects, District Development Commissioner Doda Vishesh Paul Mahajan today chaired a meeting of key officials of the department in his office chamber today. 

The meeting was attended by ADDC, Pran Singh; Superintending Engineer PWD, Suresh Kumar; CPO, Suresh Kumar; Ex En Special Sub Division Gandoh, Mushtaq Ahmed; Ex En Doda, Mohd Rafeeq; Ex En Bhaderwah, Tanzeel Ahmed, AEEs and AEs of the department.

It was informed that out of Rs 685.92 lakhs allocation under the Capex Budget-2022-23, Rs 342.96 lakh stand was released to the PWD department for execution of 72   works. “Out of 72 approved works, 53 have been allotted, while 6 works stand completed and 8 works are declared non feasible by the concerned engineers,” the meeting was told.

 The SE informed that expenditure of Rs 271.65 lakh have been made till date, while bills for work done liability of Rs. 70 lakhs  would be submitted shortly in the concerned treasuries for withdrawal in favour of the concerned contractors.

Regarding NABARD funded works, the meeting was informed that a total 22 works were approved in the district out of which 7 have been completed and work on 11 was on. Under CRF, a total of 31 roads were approved of which seven roads have been completed till date, while work on more 19 projects was on. 

About Languishing Projects, the meeting was told that the department took up 33 projects out of which 18 are complete and work on 10 projects is in progress.The DDC asked SE and Ex Ens to personally monitor the quality of the work on ground. 

It was decided in the meeting that the non-feasible works be recommended for foreclosure and funds involved in these works be processed for reallocation.The DDC directed the concerned to ensure 75% physical and financial completion of the works under all schemes by or before 15th of November.

It was instructed that works involving cement work must be completed before 31th of December. Besides, bottlenecks hampering the progress on some of the roads and other projects were discussed in detail in the meeting and DDC directed the Ex Ens to take up the matter with ADCs/ SDMs, and other concerned officers for early resolution of the issues and timely completion of the works. 

He issued clear directions that if after exhausting all the legitimate sources for the resolution of bottlenecks, the work is not taken up, the same works must be processed for foreclosure.DDC also directed the department to ensure that no work is held up or delayed beyond its allotted time of completion by any contractor.
