Dussehra, marking the victory of good over evil, was celebrated with full religious fervour and gaiety in Ramban here today.The function was organized in the premises of Government Higher Secondary School, Ramban, where the effigies of Ravana, Kumbkarna and Meghnatha were consigned to flames marking victory of truth over evil.
Officers from Civil and Police administration, prominent citizens, PRIs, members of committee and a large number of people participated in the celebrations.Elaborate security and other necessary arrangements were made by district and police administration for smooth celebration of Dussehra festival.
First the Lanka was set to flames, which was followed by torching of the effigy of Meghnath -the eldest son of Ravan and his brother Kumbkaran. In the last, the demon King was set on fire.
