Government procurement of paddy has started in Punjab from 1 October. In view of this,Tourism Minister, Punjab Madam Anmol Gagan Mann today visited Kharar and Kurali Anaj Mandis of district SAS Nagar to took stock of the procurement arrangements for paddy.
Meanwhile, she also reviewed the drinking water and cleanliness in the market.Cabinet Minister Madam Anmol Gagan Mann obtained information from the officials of the District Food Supply and Controller Department regarding the availability of gunny bags in markets.
She asked the officials of the procurement agencies that the details of the crops purchased from the farmers should immediately be entered on the grain procurement portal so that the farmers can be paid within a specified time.
Talking to farmers on this occasion, She said that farmers are the backbone of the economy of this agrarian state. The necessary arrangements for the purchase of paddy have been completed by the Punjab government and each grain of the paddy crop will be purchased by the Punjab government in a transparent and smooth manner and the farmers will not face any problem in the markets.
She said that the purchase of paddy in the district was going on uninterruptedly. She said that direct payment will be made in the accounts of the farmers of the district.On this occasion, besides others, SDM Kharar Mr. Ravinder Singh, District Food and Supply Officer Mr. Satveer Singh, market traders and farmers were present in large numbers.
