The social welfare department Kishtwar in collaboration with School Education Department today organised a painting and Debate competition here at Government Hr Sec School (Boys)  under “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.''

As many as 200 students of the government and private institutions participated in the event, while functionaries of the Social Welfare Department also marked their presence in the program.

In the debate competition, the speakers highlighted the harmful effects of drugs and motivated the students to stay away from such substances. They informed that the main aim of organizing such events was to spread awareness among the students and prevent the young generation from indulging in drug addiction.

Meanwhile, in the painting competition students put in best efforts to colour down the ideas about the gravity of drug menace.The best three painters and debaters will be announced and felicitated later on in the occasion.

Among others present in the program were the School Principal, Parmeela Sharma, TSWO Kishtwar, I/C Cultural Cell, SED Kishtwar, besides other officials of concerned school and department.
