The Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act has been used by the Delhi Police to file two FIRs against a number of notorious gangsters from Punjab and Delhi, including Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar. Both Goldy and Lawrence were allegedly involved in Sidhu Moosewala’s murder case.
"The Delhi Police Special Cell has taken this big action against many famous gangsters of two big gangs of Delhi Punjab which have become synonymous with terror and crime. In which two FIRs have been registered under UAPA against a dozen gangsters of Lauresh Vishnoi gang and Bambiha Neeraj Babaniya gang," said the police.

Meanwhile, this is the first time in Delhi that several gangsters have been booked under the stringent law. The act is generally used for those accused in terror cases. Also, the Delhi Police is reportedly targeting the Moosewala murder suspects Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldy Brar, and Vikram Brar as well as members of their rival gangs Davinder Bambiha, Kaushal Chaudhary, Neeraj Bawana, Sunil alias Tillu Tajpuriya, Dilpreet, and Sukhpreet alias Budha under the UAPA.
Prior to this, the Delhi Police's Special Cell was aware that members of both gangs were bringing illegal firearms into the nation from overseas to carry out targeted killings in Delhi and other regions. Two separate units of the Special Cell have filed two FIRs under the same provisions of the UAPA—sections 18 (punishment for conspiracy), 18-B (punishment for recruiting any person or persons for terrorist acts), and 20 (punishment for membership in a terrorist gang or organization)—as well as IPC 120-B (criminal conspiracy). The investigative officers in these cases are two ACP-rank officers.
