The District Administration Kishtwar today provided mini-commercial vehicles to six youth under "Mumkin" Scheme of Mission Youth J&K, here at a simple function held in the new DC Office Complex.
Chairperson, District Development Council Kishtwar, Pooja Thakur handed over keys of the vehicles to the youth in presence of Deputy Commissioner, Ashok Sharma; Joint Director Planning, Mohd Iqbal; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Varunjeet Singh Charak; Assistant Director, District Employment and Counseling Centre, Amit Kumar; District Employment Officer, Wasim Hassan Khan, besides other officials District Employment and Counseling Centre Kishtwar were present on the occasion.
This was the 2nd batch of youth who were provided commercial vehicles under the Mumkin Scheme in the current Financial Year 2022-23. Earlier this year, 29 youth were provided commercial vehicles under the same scheme, while 45 youth benefited under the scheme during FY 2021-22.
On the occasion, DDC Chairperson and DC Kishtwar shared words of encouragement with the beneficiaries.Briefing about the scheme, the AD Employment & Counselling, DE&CC informed that subsidy in favour of 44 sanctioned cases stand released out of which 06 vehicles were delivered today to disbursed cases.
This distribution is to be followed by delivery to another batch of 38 beneficiaries.Pertinent to mention that the Mumkin Scheme is an initiative of Mission Youth J& K and is implemented by DE&CC at the district level.Under the scheme, applications are invited through JK e-Services portal, scrutinized, verified and approved by the District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) chaired by the Deputy Commissioner.
Approved applications of intending beneficiaries in the age group of 18-35 are sponsored to concerned J&K Bank branches for sanction.After sanction, subsidy contribution from Mission Youth is released for disbursal of each case and vehicles are delivered to beneficiaries.Apart from 10% subsidy from mission youth, vehicle manufacturers also provide an upfront discount of 10% to the applicants.
