The trend of boycotts is not new these days. Recently, we saw the boycott of Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar's Raksha Bandhan. And now Taapsee Pannu starrer Dobaaraa, directed by Anurag Kashyap, has become a victim of the same. 

Yes, you read that right. In a recent interview, Taapsee and Anurag requested people to boycott their film Dobaaraa. Anurag Kashyap told, "I am feeling left out. Even I want ki meri film boycott karo...please make our film trend on Twitter by boycotting." Adding to this, Taapsee Pannu said, "Yes please boycott Dobaaraa trend karva do...we also want to trend on Twitter."

The movie, which has previously screened at a number of film festivals and generated some hype for its fascinating plot, will be released in theatres on August 19. It has yet to be seen what impact these patterns will have on the movie's box office performance.

Apart from Taapsee, the film also features Rahul Bhatt, Sukant Goel, Nassar, Nidhi Singh, Saswata Chatterjee, Vidusshi Mehra, and Madhurima Roy in significant roles. Dobaaraa is jointly produced by Ektaa Kapoor's Cult Movies, a new division under Balaji Telefilms, and Sunir Kheterpal and Gaurav Bose's banner Athena.
