Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, Rural Development and Panchayat and Agriculture Minister Punjab today visited Makora Patan near Ravi River and said that the Punjab government will not allow any problems to the people of the villages affected by the flood and that a fixed bridge will be built across the Ravi River. 

It has been approved and its construction will start soon, which will bring great relief to the people of 7 villages living across Ravi. On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Gurdaspur M0hammad Ishfaq, Dr. Nidhi Kumud Bamba, Additional Deputy Commissioner (g) and Samsher Singh, senior leader of AAP and constituency in-charge Dinanagar were also present.

Speaking on the occasion, Cabinet Minister Dhaliwal said that today he had first visited the flood-affected area in Pathankot district and now he has come to Makora Pattan near Ravi river in Gurdaspur district. 

He said that the main purpose of coming here is to devise a solid strategy to deal with a dangerous situation like floods so that the people of the villages across the river and nearby do not face any problem. 

He said that the construction of the bridge will be done by the PWD, department and the construction of the bridge will be completed within the specified time frame. Apart from this, he also asked for a big boat to be provided soon for the convenience of the people.

On this occasion, the people of 7 villages across the Ravi river brought their problems to the notice of Cabinet Minister Dhaliwal. The people told about the problems related to the flow of water from the river Ravi, the upgrading of schools, the ongoing work of water supply to be carried out soon. 

For the solution of which he gave assurance.On this occasion, he interacted with the BSF officers and they also placed some demands before the Cabinet Minister, which he directed the concerned department to fulfill.

On this occasion, he asked the officials to keep a 24-hour monitoring of the water level in the Ravi river and to make adequate arrangements to control any kind of danger like flood.

On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Gurdaspur told the cabnit minister that the district administration has made adequate arrangements to deal with the danger situation like flood and for the convenience of the people, a 24-hour control room has been established at the district and tehsil level.

On this occasion, Paramjit Kaur Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development), Shayri Bhandari SDM Batala, Kulwinder Singh Commandant BSF, Sandeep Malhotra, DDPO, Abhishek Verma Naib Tehsildar, Advocate Rajeev Madan were present.
