Aam Aadmi Party Member Sanjay Singh on Monday gave suspension of business notice in Rajya Sabha, to discuss Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's visit to Singapore.Singh gave the notice under Rule 267 over "Centre not allowing Delhi CM to visit Singapore" and demanded an urgent discussion on the issue.
Earlier, he had lashed out at the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) for allegedly trying to withhold Kejriwal from visiting the country claiming they were "afraid" of his rising popularity."Modi's model is fake. Kejriwal's model is real.
Modi ji got angry when the Singapore government called @ArvindKejriwal to discuss the Delhi model", Singh alleged in a tweet. He asked in the tweet that why is the three-time elected CM not allowed to go to Singapore?
"The government should answer on this subject by adjourning the proceedings of the house today", he said in the same tweet sharing the suspension of business notice which he gave in the Upper House.Chief Minister Kejriwal wrote to PM Modi seeking permission to travel to Singapore to attend the World Cities Summit to present the "Delhi model" on July 17.
In his letter, Kejriwal also said that he earlier wrote to the prime minister on June 7 seeking permission for the travel.Kejriwal, who has been invited by the Singapore High Commissioner, has sought to attend the summit commencing on July 31.
