Two superhit films of Bollywood that are Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Kabir Singh have marked a special place in the hearts and minds of the audience. Not only this, both these films had lightened the collection at the box office. The former film is setting new records post the pandemic lull that the industry is trying to recoup from. Considering all these factors, these franchises have become quite special to the producers too.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is a franchise of Akshay Kumar’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa. The second part features Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani, and Tabu in the lead roles and is directed by Anees Bazmee. It has been closer to a 100-crore collection at the box office. The ongoing film has undeniably broken many records after a long time. And jumping back to Kabir Singh, this also, was the official Hindi remake of Vijay Deverakonda's Telugu film, Arjun Reddy. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Kabir Singh featured Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani in lead roles.
When asked about the renewal during a recent meeting, Bhushan Kumar stated that Kabir Singh can absolutely be turned into a franchise. Shahid's character is an iconic one, according to him, and might be reprised in a sequel. Murad Khetani also stated that the character has gained a lot of popularity among followers. He also expressed his desire for Bhushan to make Aashiqui 3 as soon as possible.
Ahead of the BB 2 release, Kartik had said, “It is the most difficult thing to make a sequel because the writers have to present it in a new way and yet retain the element of the original movie. The scale on which it was made, it’s much larger and wider. We are hopeful a lot of families will come and watch it. This is a different and new story. It is not a remake, it is a sequel, which has a new story, set in the world of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’, which will make people nostalgic.” Now, the producers have given a green signal for the franchise of these films and fans are super excited for the second and third instalments of blockbuster movies. However, these franchise films are still in the works, and no further details have been revealed. However, we can't wait to watch how these flicks turn out!
