Netflix has recently released the trailer of the upcoming film Spiderhead, starring Chris Hemsworth and Miles Teller. The
Netflix film is based on George Saunders' short tale Escape From Spiderhead, which was published in The New Yorker. The science-fiction trailer is very captivating and leaves you in suspense for sure. The darkly comedic psychological thriller takes place in a futuristic jail run by visionary Steve Abnesti (
Chris Hemsworth), where inmates wear a surgically implanted device that administers dosages of mind-altering medicines in exchange for reduced sentences. No prison bars, cells, or orange jumpsuits are present.
In Spiderhead, prison volunteers are free to be themselves. Until they aren't anymore. "Drip on?" Hemsworth's character asks his (probably unwilling) subjects in the trailer, hinting at a mind-bending experience. However, we have no idea what it means and will have to wait until June 17 to find out.Meanwhile, coming to the credits, Spiderhead is directed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick) from a screenplay written by Deadpool scribes Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. It stars Hemsworth (Thor: Love and Thunder), Miles Teller (The Offer), Jurnee Smollett (Birds of Prey), Tess Haubrich (Alien: Covenant), BeBe Bettencourt (The Dry), and more. The upcoming film will premiere on June 17.
