To pay honour and respect to Constable Riyaz Ahmad resident of Gadoora Pulwama, who attained martyrdom today morning in a terror attack at his residential house.A wreath laying ceremony was held at District Police Lines Pulwama Civil & Police Officers including DIG SKR Anantnag Shri Abdul Jabbar, DC Pulwama Shri Baseer ul Haq Chourdary,SSP Anantnag Shri Ashish Mishra, SSP Pulwama Shri Gh Jeelani Wani, CO of 55 RR, CO’s of CRPF 182/183 Bn, and other Civil and Police Officers/Officials have participated in the ceremony and laid floral wreaths on the mortal remains & paid rich tributes to the martyr for his supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
Earlier A Policeman who was shot at and injured by militants Gudaroo area of Pulwama succumbed to his wounds at an army hospital here, officials said, He was identified as Riyaz Ahmad Thoker Was shifted to DH Pulwama and referred to 92Base army hospital here. Where he succumbed to injuries.Soon after the incident a case has been registered and investigation are underway.
