District Barnala today attained a major achievement in Punjab government drive to remove encroachments from government land. Acting on the orders of Deputy Commissioner Barnala Dr. Harish Nayar the rural development and panchayat department today removed encroachments from 37 Canal 8 Marla of land in village Moom that had been under illegal possession for the around past 50 years.Giving information in this context Deputy Commissioner Barnala Dr. Harish Nayar said that a family had encroach upon this land for the past 50 years which has now been restored back with the government. Last week Deputy Commissioner had sent a team led by the District Development and Panchayat Officer Mr. Roop Singh to the family in village that had illegally taken possession of the aforesaid piece of land. Today, the panchayat of village moom was supposed to take back the possession of land. 

However, Tejinder Singh the resident of village Moom, who had land in his possession, today contacted Panchayat Department expressing his willingness to hand the land rightfully. He gave an affidavit today stating that he has left the possession of land.ADC (Rural Development)  Mr.  Paramvir Singh said the department will continue with its campaign of taking back possession of the land of government that illegally lies with private people. He added that more such land pieces shall be taken back in next few weeks.DDPO Roop Singh appealed encroachers to vacate the panchayat land that they have illegally encroached upon or else face the government action.It is pertinent to mention here that DDPO-cum-authorized collector Barnala's court under Punjab Village Common Land Act had given decision under section 7 to get back possession of land and issued warrant to get back land on 21.12.2017 after which Gram Panchayat Moom was to take back possession of land.ADC (G) Amit Bamby, SDM Simarpreet Kaur, PO Gurmail Singh, patwari Gurpreet Singh, panchayat secretary Gurdeep Singh and panchayat members of Moom were present.

District administration felicitated Tejinder Singh

The District Development and Panchayat Office today felicitated Tejinder Singh of village Moom for vacating the land. Deputy Commissioner said that other encroachers should come forward like Tejinder and give back the encroached land. Tejinder Singh said that he had given back the land willingly and that he would follow the government rules.
