To promote organic farming, Punjab Agro Export Corporation Limited , the field branch of Punjab Agro organized a district level camp was organized in village Kishanpura of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar in which about 70 farmers participated.District Supervisor Satwinder Singh Palli said that the use of chemicals and fertilizers on a large scale has led to the spread of deadly diseases, so time is needed for organic farming.

He said that Punjab is the second state in India after Sikkim, where the certification of third party organic farms has been done by the government free of cost and Punjab Agri Export Corporation Limited has provided this facility to the farmers on their way to the farms.Surinder Singh from abha Foundation also participated and shared with the farmers the planning and experiences of organic and group farming.

Nawanshahr Atma Project Director Dr. Kamaldeep Singh Sangha and Dr. Jagdish Singh Kahma from Horticulture Department enlightened the organic farmers about the various schemes offered by the departments and shared marketing tips.On the occasion, Punjab Agro officials Viswadeep Singh, Jaspal Singh, KisanSatnam Singh, Charanjit Kaur, Hari Om and others were present during the camp.
