The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kulgam today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the arrangements for upcoming festivals of Annual Maha Shivratri and Shab-i-Mehraj in the district.Addressing the meeting, the ADC stressed upon the concerned officers to ensure fool proof arrangements in the shrines/mosques expecting a huge congregation of devotees during the upcoming festivals in the district.The ADC directed the concerned officers for conduct of joint market checking to check profiteering/ black marketing of essential commodities by traders.

The Executive Engineers of PDD/Jal Shakti were directed to ensure availability of uninterrupted power and water supply at all shrines/ mosques where huge congregations will be held.Other arrangements including security arrangements, deployment of magistrates, cleanliness drive and availability of essential commodities, medi-care, fire tenders, besides, availability of transport were also discussed and directions were passed to the concerned officers for ensuring the required facilities. He also urged people to adhere to COVID-19 SOPs to prevent spread of the virus.The meeting was attended by Executing Engineer PHE, CAHO, CAO, Tehsildars, DSP-HQ and other officers besides Auqaf members also attended the meeting.
