On the occasion of National Voters' Day, a message to participate in voting maximum was given by a unique way today at Kapurthala under the leadership of District Electoral Officer Deepti Uppal.The administration given a title as "Sweep Cake" and "Sweep Biryani". DEO appealed Voters to participate in the Assembly elections through "Sweep Cake" and "Sweep Biryani".The District Electoral Officer said that activities have been going on for the last 6 months to motivate the voters and especially the youth between the ages of 18 to 19 to exercise their voting rights.
She said that students of schools and colleges were creatively educating the people to cast their vote without any fear, greed or intimidation or pressure.Similarly people have been made aware through poster making, speech competitions, essay competitions etc. The District Electoral Officer and other attendees also took an oath to use their vote wisely.Additional Deputy Commissioner Phagwara Daljit Kaur, Election Tehsildar Manjit Kaur and other participants, who are closely involved in scheduled elections activities were also present on the occasion.
