As part of 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav', the Information Education and Communication ( IEC ) activities to sensitise the common masses about the “Apni Zameen Apni Nigrani” Land Record Information System (LRIS) are in full swing across Shopian district.In this regard, Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Shopian, Mohammad Yousuf Mir today conducted an extensive tour of various blocks of the district and inspected the IEC activities on ground.Series of IEC awareness activities were also held under the supervision of ADDC including live demonstration, on-site inspection of the land records of the people and distribution of pamphlets etc during the day.En-route, the ADDC also inspected developmental works being executed under Rural Development Department schemes and interacted with  PRIs, Self help group members, Youth club members locals, students and other stakeholders.

PRIs and the general public on the occasion put forth their demands and issues. Responding to the demands and issues, the ADDC assured them that all their genuine issues would be addressed in a time bound manner.During the IEC activities, hands-on-training was given to women self help group members regarding use of mobile phones to view land records on mobiles.The Officers were directed to create a network of trainers at Panchayat level who will further help people to access land records and also educate them about IEC.Similarly, Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, Shopian Shahbaz Ahmed Boda also visited various Blocks of the District and inspected the IEC activities.
