The newly elected Mayor of Mohali Municipal Corporation Amarjit Singh Jiti Sidhu has started his work from day one. Accompanied by municipal officials, he visited the sewerage linw work being done on the main road. Also present on the occasion were Amrik Singh Somal Senior Deputy Mayor, Kuljit Singh Bedi Deputy Mayor, Rajinder Singh Rana Former President Municipal Council, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Kamal Garg, Victor Singh Sabharwal, exian Harpreet Singh Public Health and other officials.Mayor Amarjit Singh Jeeti on the occasion directed the authorities to start work of the road within a month.It may be recalled that this work was being carried out under Amrut scheme and it was inaugurated by Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu in the past. The work was at fast pace at that time but has since stalled. Rs 9.75 crore is being spent on this work. Under this 8800 meters of sewerage line is being laid out of which 6000 meters have been completed while 2800 meters are due. Mayor Jiti Sidhu said that this new sewerage was the lifeline of Mohali which would give relief to the residents of Mohali in the next 50 years and more.Mayor Jeeti Sidhu asked the authorities to complete the work of this sewerage line and connect it to Phase 5 Mohali and get the road operational before the rains. He said that similarly the rest of the works would be completed on time to provide relief to the people. He said that he and his team would continue to monitor the various works and the quality work would be completed and handed over to the people.
