The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Pulwama, Dr Raghav Langer today kick-started a Chinar plantation drive organized by Department of Floriculture here.During the drive, the DDC planted Chinar tree saplings in the premises of DC office complex and Govt Women's Degree College Pulwama.Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said that the purpose of the drive is to enhance the green cover in the district and to create an eco-friendly environment. He stressed for involvement of all citizens in this drive to plant more trees so that future generations could be saved from the disastrous consequences of environmental degradation.The District Floriculture Officer on the occasion informed that 500 Chinar saplings will be planted at different locations in the district.On the occasion, students of GDC also planted various Chinar saplings in the premises of College.ADC Pulwama, ACD, District Floriculture officer and other officials were present on the occasion.
