Governor Bandaru Dattatraya released the book 'Atharvaveda' written by Dr. Mastram Sharma, former Secretary Himachal Sanskrit Academy Shimla and OSD Sanskrit, Department of Higher Education at Raj Bhavan, today. The book consists of comparative study of Pratishakhya and Ashtadhyayi.On this occasion, the Governor appreciated the efforts of the author and said that the book consists of the secret of grammatology and how to pronounce the word using the Vedic grammar formulas of Atharvaveda. He said that in the present perspective both Sanskrit and culture need to be protected and promoted. The antiquity of the Vedas is honourable in the field of faith and literature. He said that according to Indian tradition, Vedas are the basic foundation of Vedic and Cosmic Culture.On this occasion, Dr. Mastram explained how these Vedic mantras should be recited with the assistance of the book.Author and former Deputy Director, Department of Language, Art and Culture, Sudarshan Vashisht and OSD Sanskrit Dr. Praveen, Directorate of Higher Education and Sanskrit Scholar Sanjay Shastri were also present on the occasion.
