Punjab government has constituted district grievances committees to resolve people’s issues and provide them better quality of life. These committees have brought in transparency in working of government as well as ensured proper and timely delivery of services.Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Water Resources, Mining and Geology Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria today said while presiding over meeting of the grievances redressal committee held today at DC meeting hall. The members of district grievances redressal committee and other stake holders were also present.He directed the officials to ensure that all pending works were completed timely in a phased manner and that people do not suffer due to delay. Grievances redressal committee members MLA Barnala Gurmeet Singh Hayer, MLA Mahal Kalan Kulwant Singh Pandori, chairman Improvement Trust Makhan Sharma, member Jatinder Jimmy, member Captain Sadhu Singh, member Baldev Singh Bhuchar, member Chand Singh Chopra former MLA, special invitee Narinder Sharma, member Ujagar Singh Bihla, member Sukhdev Singh Rai, member Jasmail Singh, member Vijay Kumar took up various issues related to the district regarding laying and repairs of roads, laying of roads that have been damaged due to sewer laying, traffic woes, issue of over speeding of two wheelers, stray animals, appointing district level nodal officer for cleanliness and sanitation, upgradation of schools etc.Former MLA and senior Congress leader Kewal Singh Dhillon said that developmental works were continuously being undertaken and projects worth crores on laying of roads shall also be completed soon.Cabinet Minister Mr Sarkaria asked the Deputy Commissioner Mr Tej Partap Singh Phoolka to ensure that all officers are doing their duty properly. He also directed that the issues, which cropped up during meeting, should be regularly monitored.  Deputy Commissioner Mr Tej Partap Singh Phoolka assured that people’s problems will be resolved on priority basis.ADC (G) Mr Aditya Dechalwal, SP (H) Mrs Harwant Kaur, SDM Barnala Varjit Walia, Civil Surgeon Dr Sukhjiwan Kakkar, chairperson zila parishad Sarabjit Kaur Khuddi, district revenue officer Gagandeep Singh, DDPO Sanjeev Sharma and others were also present.
