In a good news for the residents, Punjab Technical Education & Industrial Training, Employment Generation & Training, Tourism and Culture Affairs Minister Mr Charanjit Singh Channi today laid the foundation stone of “Shri Guru Gobind Singh Industrial Training Institute (ITI)” at village Bassian, near here. He was also accompanied by Fatehgarh Sahib MP Dr Amar Singh, Senior Youth Congress leader Mr Kamil Amar Singh Boparai, besides several others. While addressing the gathering, Mr Charanjit Singh Channi informed that as per the directions of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, 19 ITIs are being set up in  different areas of the state, namely Raikot, Khera, Amloh, Shri Hargobindpur, Bhikhi, Dinanagar, Patran, Ghanaur, Lohian, Gandiwind, Mehraj, Ram Tirath, Shri Chamkaur Sahib, Balachaur, Machhiwara, Mamdot and Kharar.He informed that “Shri Guru Gobind Singh Industrial Training Institute (ITI)” at village Bassian is being set up with the dedicated efforts of Fatehgarh Sahib MP Dr Amar Singh and with a cost of around Rs 7 crore. He said that an estimate has been prepared for addition/alteration of this building with approximate cost of 3.39 crore. He said that the remaining amount of around Rs 3.60 crore would be spent on purchasing machinery for the smooth operations of this ITI. He said that the department has sent case for creation of 35 posts after getting approval form Punjab Finance Department including Principal and different cadre.

He assured that the classes would start within a year, it will have a capacity of 220 youth to get Skill Training in trades as computer hardware & networking, electronics mechanics, machinist, welder (GMAW & GTAW) and surveyor. He also announced to start a Skill Development Centre and Apprenticeship Scheme Centre in this particular ITI.In his address, MP Dr Amar Singh thanked Capt Amarinder Singh and Mr Charanjit Singh Channi for this ITI, that would help a large number of area youth in getting industrial training. He said that several industries are coming up in Raikot area and with the start of this ITI, it would help in employment generation. He said that the syllabus would be tailor-made for the requirements of the industry so that all students get assured employment. He said that this ITI would be ready in next 6 months time and the classes would also start soon.Senior Youth Congress leader Mr Kamil Amar Singh Boparai informed that the Capt Amarinder Singh led Punjab government is committed for providing best educational infrastructure in Raikot area. He said that a government college is also coming up in the area and with the start of “Shri Guru Gobind Singh Industrial Training Institute (ITI)”,  large number of area youth would be benefitted.Prominent among those present on the occasion included Mr Kumar Saurabh Raj, Director Technical Education & Industrial Training Punjab, Additional Director Mrs Daljit Kaur, Assistant Director Mr Jaswant Singh, SDM Dr Himanshu Gupta, Mr Baljinder Singh, Mr Mohan Singh, OSD Mr Jagpreet Singh Buttar, Chairman Mr Sukhpal Singh Gondwal, Chairman Mr Kirpal Singh, besides several others.
