DC Ganderbal launches cleanliness drive on Gandhi Jayanti

In order to commemorate the 151st birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, District Administration Ganderbal, organized a cleanliness drive under the Swachhta Hi Seva here today.The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal launched the drive from the Mini Secretariat in which Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmad Baba, ACR Ganderbal besides other district officers and staff members of Municipal Council Ganderbal participated.During the drive, plastic and other non-decomposable waste was collected from the premises of the Mini Secretariat and Main Market of the town which was disposed of appropriately.Paying tributes to Mahatma Gandhi, Deputy Commissioner (DC) said that it is our collective duty to keep surroundings clean. He said that Gandhiji always gave the message of cleanliness and the duty of every citizen is to contribute to this common cause to ensure a healthy environment.Earlier Swachhta Pledge was also administered by the DC among the participants in the lawns of Mini Secretariat Ganderbal.
