The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Pulwama, Dr Raghav Langer today said that Jan Abhiyan is an opportunity to bridge the gap between people and the Govt besides reposing the faith of people on Public Institutions.He said this during an inauguration of Block Divas event here, he urged upon the officers to remain accessible to people and carry extensive tours to far flung areas of the district to have a firsthand assessment of peoples issues and demands.The DDC appealed to people to avail the benefits of various govt. schemes and added that the aim of organizing Jan Abhiyan and B2V3 programme is to resolve all the public issues in a time bound manner. He stressed upon the officers to maintain a comprehensive record of demands for the follow up action.The DDC along with SP Pulwama also attended Jan Abhiyan at various Blocks of the district including Pulwama, Lassipora and Ichgoza Rajpora during which a large number of locals projected their demands before the DDC and teams of officers deputed by the district administration.
During the Public hearings, the delegations raised the issues regarding the provision of various services like revenue extracts, domicile certificates, caste certificates, dependency certificates, registration for various individual benefit schemes including Social Security Schemes for Old age pensions, handicap pensions, scholarships and submitted memorandum of demands pertaining to their respective Panchayat Halqas.Block Divas was held in all 11 Blocks of the district where discussion was held regarding development projects besides issues faced by the common masses of different panchayats and designated officers including ADC Pulwama, ADC Tral and ADC Awantipora and other district and sectoral officers listened to the demands and issues of the people.Later, Sports kits were distributed among the students, Driving Licenses, registration certificates, Domicile certificates, income certificates, Job Cards, KCC Cards, Labour Cards were distributed among the applicants.Besides Aids and Appliances were distributed among specially abled persons, Sanction letters under Ladli Beti and other Social Security Schemes were distributed among the people at all eleven blocks of the district.
