“The role of the media in today’s world assumes great importance as it acts as a bridge between the common people and the government and disseminates the info and moulds the public opinion.” These views were expressed here today by the Speaker, Punjab Vidhan Sabha Rana K.P. Singh on the occasion of launching of the web based channel PBC News.The Speaker further said that in the emergency situations such as the present corona virus pandemic, the role of media becomes all the more important as correct flow of the information needs to be ensured.He also appreciated the fact that in the current situation, the media-persons are discharging their duties in a very professional manner and are acting as frontline warriors alongwith the police and the health department.Meanwhile, the Speaker also called upon all to follow strictly the health department guidelines regarding following social distancing norms, wearing of the masks in public and washing of hands with soap and hand sanitizers so as to make Mission Fateh, echo in every nook and corner of the world.Among others present on the occasion included the SDM Kharar Himanshu Jain, SP Rural Ravjot Grewal and the Founder of the PBC News Satpal Singh Kataria.
