Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, while addressing the virtual rally of Nalagarh BJP Mandal of Solan district through video conferencing from here today said that the Covid-19 cases in India were 24 per lakh as compared to 653 cases per lakh in USA and 622 per lakh in Spain. He said that similarly the death rate in India due to Covid-19 was 0.73 per lakh as compared to 61 per lakh in UK, 50 per lakh in Spain and 36 deaths per lakh in USA. He said that the credit for containing spread of Covid-19 pandemic  in the country to a great extent goes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi  for taking timely decision of lockdown.The Chief Minister said that the national leadership of BJP has appreciated the efforts of the Himachal BJP for making optimum use of modern technology for making contact with people at the grass root level. He said that the vision of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding Digital India has made it possible for us to interact with each other through technology. He said that during the last two months the Prime Minister interacted with the  Chief Ministers of the States for six times.Jai Ram Thakur thanked the people of Nalagarh area for preparing and distributing about 32000 masks to the needy people. He said that the people of the area have also contributed Rs 6.25  lakh towards HP SDMA Covid-19 State Disaster Response Fund. 

He also thanked the people of Nalagarh area for providing free food to about five lakh people and also distributing 3400 Modi aation kits. He urged the people of the area to generously donate towards HP SDMA Covid-19 State Disaster Response Fund as this amount goes a long way in helping the poor and the needy.The Chief Minister said that the State has been effectively fighting the Corona pandemic and therefore the situation was far better than most of the neighbouring states. He said that the sharp rise in the number of covid-19 cases was due to bringing back about two lakh people stranded in different parts of the country. These people were being kept in quarantine and people need not to panic. Jai Ram Thakur said that under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna Rs. 500 per month have been transferred into the accounts of 5.90 lakh eligible women of the State for the month April, May and June this year.   He said that 1.37 lakh workers were provided Rs. 2000 per month for the period of two months as assistance and now the Government has decided to provide another Rs. 2000 in the accounts of registered workers of H.P. Buildings and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.Member of Parliament Suresh Kashyap, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dr. Rajiv Saizal also shared their views on the occasion.
