Congress today held a protest against the BJP Central Government for its “failure” to control cross-border firing and assassination of party Sarpanch Ajay Bharti in South Kashmir. The protest was staged in Kathua district of Jammu region. The protesting Congress workers amid pandemic set the effigy of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on fire and raised anti-Pakistan slogans.BJP led Central Government has totally failed to secure the life of common people living on the borders,” they said. Protesting over the unabated border firing, the Congress activists according to KNT Reporter said the worsening situation on the border was a cause of serious concern. “The hollowness of policies of present government on this front is evident from the fact that cross border firing has become a routine now.”  They also condemned the killing of Sarpanch Ajay Bharti who was killed by militants in South Kashmir a couple of days ago.Government is talking about the resettlement of Pandits in Kashmir but the killing of our party Sarpanch has punctured this claim. When a protected person is not safe in Valley, how come ordinary Pandits will feel secure there,” they said. (KNT)
