Two Militants were killed in an Operation at Saimoh Tral area of Awantipora Pulwama today.Reports said one more dead body were recovered near encounter site and death toll of Militants reaches 2 in this Operation which is almost concluded.J&K Police Tweeted in an official handle read : One more terrorist killed. Operation concludes. Incriminating materials including arms & ammunition recovered. Further details shall follow.Srinagar based defense spokesperson said,One more terrorist killed (Total TWO terrorists eliminated) in Joint operation. Operation in progress.Two weapons and arms were recovered from the site of Gunfight sources told.Earlier Gunfight broke out at Saimoh area of Tral Awantipora in Sout Kashmiri's Pulwama district today. The Operation was carried out by Joint forces of 42RR,Crpf and J&K Sog wing after recieved specific input about presence of Militants in the area.

As the searches were launched and combined forces reached suspected spots hiding Militants fired upon forces triggering Gunfight.2G Internet services were snapped in (PD ) police district Awantipora as a precaution measure.Police issued a Press Release regarding this Operation read as,Press Release . During the intervening night of 01/02 June 2020, on a specific input generated by Awantipora Police, a cordon & search operation was launched jointly by Awantipora Police, 42 RR and CRPF 180 Bn at Saimoh Tral area of Police District Awantipora.During the search operation, the hiding Militant fired on the joint search party. The fire was retaliated leading to an encounter.In the ensuing encounter, 02 Militants have been killed and their bodies have been retrieved from the site of encounter. The identification and affiliations of the killed Militants is being ascertained.

Besides some incriminating material the following arms/ammunition were recovered from the site of encounter:-

1. AK rifle = 02

2. Pistol = 02

3. AK magazines = 05

4. Pistol magazines = 02

5. AK rounds = 80

6. Pistol rounds = 10

7. Hand grenades = 02

All the recovered materials have been taken into case records for further investigation and to probe their complicity in other terror crimes.Due to efforts of the Police and security forces, it was a clean operation and no collateral damage took place during the encounter.In this connection a case under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Tral and investigation has been initiated.People are requested to cooperate with police till the area is completely sanitized and cleared of all the explosive materials, if any.
