Shelter home for people of Himachal stranded at Delhi made operational

Vivek Mahajan, Deputy Resident Commissioner, New Delhi, disclosed here today that shelter home has been provided to six migrant labourers from Kullu and Lahaul Spiti who were stuck due to lockdown, a shelter inn (Sarai) in Karampura (near Moti Nagar metro station) and are now safe. The 'Sarai' is being run by Himachal Social Bodies Federation under the active leadership of K.R. Verma, R.K. Sharma and team.Shri Mahajan said that they received calls from the workers last evening seeking help and within no time, they were rehabilitated in the shelter inn, with free boarding and lodging facilities.The office of Resident Commissioner at Delhi with help of Social Bodies and NGO's are also distributing free ration, medicines and other essential commodities to the needy from Himachal Pradesh said Shri Vivek Mahajan, adding that those contributing to this humanitarian cause are R. N. Sharma, Kulbhushan Sharma, Sanjay Rana, Anita Jaryal, Veena Bhaduriya, Mukesh, Riya, Mudit, Anuj Dogra, Satish, Somveer Thakur, Narendra Chauhan. 

They have also distributed free ration to 38 needy himachali families besides essential commodities in areas of Rohini, Badarpur, Mehrauli, Chatarpur, Pandavnagar, Tughlakabad, Rithala, slums of Khaurha colony, Paper Market, Mayur Vihar Phase 3 and Mahipalpur. He also thanked Dharam Singh Saklani and Amin Chand Jaswal who being stranded at Himachal Bhawan assisted these activities through their representatives at Gurgaon and Noida.Enlisting few other services by Himachalis, Mahajan informed that residents of Himachali Kangra Niketan Society Vikaspuri were providing free cooked meals to 400 needy Himachali workers since last 3 days. Shri Pawan Sharma, Rajesh Choudhry and Sanjeev Dogra Residents of Dwarka also distributed free food to 500 person's alongwith officers of local administration.He said that responding to the appeal of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, Social Bodies and NGOs are coming forward to help stranded Himachalis and supplementing the efforts of state government and RC office at New Delhi. He thanked Sidharth Sethi Advocate for donating Rs. one lakh towards CM Relief Fund. All this assistance in the hour of crisis in the metropolitan city of Delhi was possible only due to the productive guidance and proactive approach of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, said Shri Mahajan.
