The two day Punjab state youth festival organized by department of youth services, Govt of Punjab concluded today at the campus of Chandigarh university Gharuan with power packed performances by the youth of Punjab. More than twenty three thousand students participated in the state level youth festival ,who took part in thirty two categories of competitions which included folk dances ,Tribal dances ,Folk music ,Western dances ,Theater ,Literary and fine art competitions .Member Parliament ,Rajya Sabha and Veteran actor  Raj Babbar presided over the closing ceremony along with Minister for sports ,Youth Affairs & NRI affairs ,Govt of Punjab ,Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi ,MLA Bassi Pathana , Gurpeet SINGH GP ,SECATORY TOURASIM ,CULTURE ,SUPPORTS,YOUTH AFFAIRS ,Hussan Lal , Special Secretary & Director , Department of Youth Affairs ,Sanjay Poppali and chancellor Chandigarh university , Satnam Singh Sandhu. Noted Punjabi singer Jasber jassi and writer & anchor Nirmal SINGH Jora were honored with Punjab youth icon awards.  Amongst the winners, team from Punjabi University Patiala and Chandigarh university Gharuan won the folk dance (boys) while team from Punjab University Chandigarh bagged second position .the energetic performance of Punjabi university Patiala help them in winning the Bhangra competition while team from GNDU Amritsar won second position. In the Theater category of events, Host team of Chandigarh university bag first position in one act play while the team from Punjab university Chandigarh won second position. The skit competition was won by team GNDU Amritsar while the mimicry event was won by LPU Phagwara. In the classical dance category team Punjabi university Patiala won first position while the classical instrument music competition was GNU Amritsar.

While interacting with the students, MP Raj Babber said, “Today’s youth is future of our country and hence it is very important that the legacy of our rich culture and tradition values are passed on to next generation”. Organizing the mega event of Punjab state youth festival is a praise worthy attempt of govt of Punjab where the youth of the state is not only given a chance to show case their talent but they are given a chance to interact  with the experts from industry , Defense services and civil administration so that they can plan their carrier added Raj Babbar .The innovative projects developed by Youth of Punjab was the major attraction during the two-day Punjab State Youth Festival. Innovative ideas such as Smart Gloves developed by Computer science engineering student of CGC Landran was appreciated by the visitors and judges, designed by Sarthak Garg, the Smart glove is an attempt to use technology for the benefit of physically impaired and challenged people.  Yet another project “MULTI UTILITY SMART UMBRELLA” developed by Electronic and Communication students of Chandigarh student attracted the visitors. The smart umbrella is designed by Sneha and team is an innovative idea to store and purify rain water so as to make it fit for human consumption .In yet another creative displayed of talent, Sarvesh and Ritik ,IT engineering student of CGC Landran have designed and developed a “SMART GAS PROTECTION SYSTEM” to notify and detect the leakage  of LPG gas  and will take actions on the basis amount  of leakage.  On the concluding day of the Punjab state youth festival, the campus of Chandigarh university witnessed live performances by Bollywood play back singer Niti Mohan and Punjabi singers Jordan sandhu , Nooran  sisters , Ninja , Bani Sandhu , Stylish Singh.
