In an endeavour to boost Medium, Small and Micro Enterprises(MSMEs) in the state, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Thursday honoured 14 entrepreneurs with a cash award of Rs. 1 lakh and an appreciation certificate.The Chief Minister gave away the awards, in various sectors, on the first day of the Progressive Punjab Investor Summit-2019. Seven entrepreneurs were awarded under the Micro and Small category. The awardess included M/s Dhiman Foods Pvt. Limited, Distt. Jalandhar and M/s Capital Feeds Pvt. Limited, Distt. Patiala in the Agro & Processing Sector; M/s Citizen Press Components, Ludhiana and  M/s Gilard Electronics Pvt. Limited SAS Nagar in Automobiles & Auto Parts; M/s Kudu Knit Process Pvt. Limited, Ludhiana and M/s Duke Fashion (India) Limited in Textiles; M/s Crystal Electric Co. Pvt. Limited, Ludhiana and M/s Bihari Lal Ispat Pvt. Limited, village Salani, District Fatehgarh Sahib in Engineering; M/s Consern Pharma Limited, Ludhiana in Pharmaceuticals; M/s Rattan Brothers, Jalandhar and M/s Nivia Synthetics Pvt. Limited, Unit No.3, Jalandhar in Sports; M/s Falcon Garden Tools Pvt. Limited, Ludhiana and M/s Ajay Industries, Jalandhar in Hand Tools; and M/s Sakay Overseas, Leather Complex, Jalandhar in Leather industry.The awards have been conferred upon industrialists who have adopted innovative technologies for production of quality products, which in turn would help boost revenue and employment generation. The awards would also be instrumental in motivating other MSMEs to adopt such techniques and modern practices.Earlier, the CEO Invest Punjab Rajat Agarwal informed the Chief Minister that loans worth Rs. 1104 crore had  been disbursed by the HDFC Bank 701 MSMEs from November 1, 2019 till December 5, 2019 by the HDFC Bank. Those present at the awards ceremony included Industries and Commerce Minister asunder Sham Arora, Chief Secretary Karan Avtar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Industries and Investment Promotion Vini Mahajan and Director Industries Sibin C.
