Dussehra festival, marking the victory of truth over evil, was celebrated with religious fervor and gaiety here at historic Chowgan ground Kishtwar.Thousands of people participated in the celebration during which effigies of Ravana, Kumbkarna and Meghnatha were consigned to flames. The Adarsh Dramatic Club Kishtwar took out a colourful procession.District Development Commissioner, Angrez Singh Rana, SSP Kishtwar, Dr. Harmeet Singh Mehta, ASP Kishtwar, Nasir Ahmed, President Sanatan Dharma Sabha Kishtwar Hans Raj Bhutyal, District officers, Police officers, prominent citizens, members of Sanatan Dharma Sabha, members of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and people in large number were present on the occasion. DDC greeted the people on this holy eve of Dusshera and hoped that this auspicious festival would be the harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity in the region.The district administration had made elaborate arrangements of security, barricading, drinking water and power supply, medicare for smooth and successful conduct of the event.
