In continuation to the Nationwide drive “Swachhta he Sewa hai”, and under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Sushma Chauhan, a  mega rally was organized at Block Bhalwal by Block Development Officer, Bhalwal. The special focus of the programme was on “Say No to Single Use Plastic”.Sub Divisional Magistrate, Jammu North, Satish Kumar Sharma, was the Chief Guest on the occasion.A Mega Rally was carried out by the students, Anganwadi workers, Asha workers, Teachers and officers of different department which was flagged off by Sub Divisional Magistrate, Jammu North, Satish Kumar Sharma. The rally started from Higher Secondary School Bhalwal and after passing through Bheda Morh and adjoining areas amid the slogans Say No to Plastic and save Planet Earth and Save Life, culminate at Higher Secondary School, Bhalwal.While addressing the gathering, the SDM highlighted the importance of cleanliness and effects of use of Plastic.  He appreciated Block Development Officer, Bhalwal, Saima Sharief Khan  and Tehsildar Bhalwal,  Rafiq Ahmad Jaral for commendable efforts in collection of Plastic/Polythene in huge quantity more than 6.0 Quintals.Among others were present on the occasion were Principal GHSS Bhalwal, CD Sharma, BMO Bhalwal, Dr. Sushma Matoo, besides lecturers, teachers of GHSS Bhalwal besides Sarpanches and Panches of Block Bhalwal.
