The anti-larva cell of the health department on Wednesday detected 39 dengue cases in various places of the city during its drive against the vector-borne diseases under Tandarust Punjab Mission.Separate teams of anti-larva cell led by Mr Pawan Kumar, Mr Amit Kumar, Mr Sukhjinder Singh, Mr Vinod Kumar, Mr Gurwinder Singh, Mr Jaswinder Singh, Mr Rajwinder Singh, Mr Sher Singh, Mr Pradeep Kumar, Mr Jagjeet Singh, Mr Sher Singh, Mr Raj Kumar, Mr Sanjiv Kumar and others and others carried out special checking in Barring, Madhuban Colony, Focal Point, Industrial Area, Saipur, Kishanpura, Santoshi Nagar, Basti Guzan, Maqsudan, Kabir Nagar, Abadpura and various wards of Civil Hospital. The teams visited 619 houses covered the population of 2614 and checked 256 desert coolers and 651 waste containers.Members of teams told the residents that the desert coolers, containers could act as a breeding ground for the mosquitoes to spread diseases like dengue, malaria, and others.They said that the drive was aimed at identifying vulnerable places for producing the larva of mosquitoes.
