Urban Development and Housing Minister Sarveen Chaudhary gave a courtesy call to Governor Acharya Kalraj Mishra at Raj Bhawan on Tuesday.The Governor held detailed discussion with the Minister regarding Shimla and Dharamshala smart city projects. He also discussed about the progress on Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojana and said that the directions passed by the National Green Tribunal should be considered while ensuring urban development to provide better facilities to the people.In another meeting with the Director, CSIR Institue of Himalayan Bio-source Technology, Kangra Dr. Sanjay Kumar, the Governor suggested to explore possibilities of production of saffron and asafoetida (heeng) in upper reaches of the state besides enhancing the production of Moringa and Stevia. He lauded the efforts of the institute for producing alternative products for plastic.Later, Vice Chairman of HIMUDA, Parveen Sharma and a delegation led by President of BBN Industries Federation Sanjay Khurana and Vice Chairman also met the Governor.
