Governor Acharya Devvrat stressed that there should be no disparity with the girl child in the society and they should be given equal opportunities in every sphere so that could excel in their lives. He said that a girl is the pride of the family and the nation who are contributing immensely in overall development and prosperity of the nation by serving at top positions.He was presiding over the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ programme organised by Gyandeep Social and Welfare Society, Kamalpur in Kaithal district of Haryana state on Sunday.Acharya Devvrat said that the education of the girl child has the ability of bringing socio-economic changes. Democratic countries including India have a constitution that guarantees equal rights to both women and men. Educating the girl child will help in empowering them to come forward and contribute towards the prosperity and development of the country.The Governor said that drug abuse is emerging as big challenge in the society and it is the duty of the parents and teachers to educate the young generation about its ill effects and help them to channelize their energy for the betterment of the society.He also urged the farmers to discourage the use of chemical fertilizers and adopt natural farming to enhance their income and revitalize the soil fertility and ground water level.He appreciated the Gyandeep Academy for providing quality education to the rural students of the area besides motivating them for sports and other co-curriculum activities.The Governor honoured various persons for their contribution to the society and meritorious students.
