BJP Chandigarh KisanMorcha organized a Press conference at party office Kamlam. BJP Kissan Morcha National Secretary Sukhwinder Singh Grewal, Chandigarh State President Sanjay Tandon, Chandigarh Kissan Morcha President Balwinder Sharma, Haryana Kissan Morcha President Samay Singh Patti and Punjab Kissan Morcha President Vikram Singh Cheema and BJP Chandigarh Media in-charge Ravinder Pathania were present to interact with the press.Addressing the present media, Sukhwinder Singh Grewal informed that Kissan Morcha is organizing a national convention at Gorakhpur on February 23 and 24, which will be attended by over 1200 morcha members and party workers from Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh. Prime Minister Modi and Party president Amit Shah will address the convention. He further informed that detailed information about the convetion will be given in press conferences on Feb 14. Multiple Press Conferences will be held in all state and district headquarters for this. He also informed about all the development schemes for farmers started by the present government and informed that Prime Minister Modi has set a target to double farmer’s income by 2022.
He said, Modi government’s decision to allocate 52% of the developmental budget towards agriculture and farmers shows the government is committed to development of farmers. Present government has taken several steps towards water conservation, animal husbandry to develop farming and agriculture sector. He also described several other schemes like subsidy on cow dung manure, bamboo mission, developing fuel from sugarcane and rice waste, and developing bio diesel are some of the prominent schemes. He also said that farmers produce has been kept free of GST which has helped farmers a lot. He informed that government has opened new research and development institutes dedicated to agriculture. 10 new veterinary hospitals and university have been opened. He said the present government under the leadership of Modi Government is dedicated for development of farmers.
