Students, staff and faculty members of Doaba Group of Colleges (DGC), Mohali campus, enthusiastically donated blood at a blood donation camp organized in memory of Shaheed Bhagat Singh.The camp was organized by the DGC NSS wing, in association with the Rotary Club of Chandigarh (Central), under the supervision of a team of doctors from the Government Medical College and Hospital, sector 32, Chandigarh, led by Dr Tanvi Sood of the department of Transfusion Medicine.The camp was inaugurated by Mr. R S Cheema, President of the Rotary Club, along with Mr. Mahesh Arora and Mr. Rajnish Kapoor.
They complemented the donors and volunteers for their zeal and enthusiasm for a noble cause. They also highlighted the role of the Rotary Club in promoting health awareness and providing funds and facilities to the underprivileged sections of society.DGC managing vice chairman, Mr. S S Sangha, complemented the donors and volunteers for their overwhelming enthusiasm, their spirit of social work and their urge to serve the needy. He added: “DGC management always encourages its students to devote themselves towards community service. Organizing regular blood donation camps is just one step in this direction”. All donors were given refreshments and certificates of appreciation for their service to humanity. All distinguished guests and doctors were honored by the DGC management.
