Launched with an aim to improve the health conditions of Punjab in all dimensions, the Mission Tandarust Punjab in Bathinda today saw the Director Agriculture Department Dr Jasbir Singh Bains visiting the soil testing laboratory at Rampura. He motivated the farmers to get their soil health tested before using fertilizers.Director Agriculture Department Dr Jasbir Singh Bains and Chief Agriculture Officer Dr Guraditta Singh Sidhu also visited village Mehraj of Phool block where they inaugurated the plantation drive started by farmers and pesticides and fertilizers dealers' association. He motivated the farmers to make optimum use of chemicals for farming and called upon the dealers to sell agriculture inputs to farmers along with proper bills.Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Bathinda Mr Diprava Lakra and ADC Mrs Sakshi Sawhney today convened meeting with all the departments working under Tandarust Punjab Mission. The departments were directed to submit their weekly plan and daily action taken report in time.
Mr Lakra said that keeping in view the monsoon season, more plantation activities should be undertaken. For this, the volunteers of Art of Living and Mother's Pride School have offered to dig pits and prepare earth for plantation in areas of Goniana and Bhucho Mandi.Similarly, under Mission Tandarust Punjab today awareness lectures on prevention of dengue and malaria were held at different government schools today. At the Government Senior Secondary School Killi Nihal Singh Wala, Government Senior Secondary School Jalal, Government High School Bhucho Mandi, Government Senior Secondary School Dyalpura Bhai Ka etc these lectures were held. Similarly, in Nathana the pond falling in ward number 2 and 3 were cleaned, sweeping and cleaning of vegetable and fruit market Maur, roads of nagar panchayat Maluka, streets of nagar panchayat Mehraj. streets and drains of nagar panchayat Bhai Rupa was also done. At nagar panchayat Kotshamir, the students of Dasmesh Public School took out a rally against use of drugs.
