Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that Bharat Tibet Cooperation Manch was doing a commendable service in providing an apt platform for  deliberating on burning issue related to Tibet. He was speaking on the occasion of Bharat Tibet Cooperation Manch function held at Mandi today to commemorate 19 years of its formation.Jai Ram Thakur said that the Manch has emerged as a most powerful voice in favour of Tibet. He said that the State of Himachal Pradesh was blessed as His Holiness the Dalai Lama chose the State as his second abode.He said that due to his Holy presence Dharamshala town of the State has emerged as the world famous destination. He said that His Holiness the Dalai Lama has special love for the State and its people.The Chief Minister said that under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi the country has emerged as the power, which the world community cannot ignore. He said that Himachal Pradesh was known as Dev Bhoomi where people of different religions live with complete harmony and peace. He said that the State shares its border with China thus it was essential that India also to strengthen its communication network near border. He said that State Government has taken up the issue of construction of Bhanupalli-Bilspur-Leh Rail line which was of strategic importance. 

Jai Ram Thakur assured the Manch for all possible help from Government side and hoped that it would continue to work for the better ties and friendship between India and Tibet. He said that the Manch has entered 20 years of its existence and during these years it has strived hard to strengthen the bond of friendship between India and Tibet.He also released a photograph on the 20th year of the Manch.Senior Pracharak of RSS and Patron of the Manch Shri Indresh Kumar said that the Himalayan region was known for its ancient cultural history and piousness. He said that for the people of Tibet, India was their Karam Bhumi and Tibet their Matri Bhumi.  He said that the people of the country were indebted to our great soldiers who were guarding our frontiers in adverse conditions. He said that today India has emerged as a major power not only in Asia but also in the World. He said that India and Tibet should work collectively for peace and development of the region.Patron Bharat Tibet Cooperation Manch and Vice Chancellor of Central University HP Dr Kuldeep Agnihotri said the Tibet has blessings of Lord Shiva and Lord Buddha. He said that the most poise religious place of Hindus Kailash Mansarovar was situated in Tibet. 

Health Minister of Tibetan Government in Exile Shri Wangchuk said that Lord Padam Sambhava had chosen Mandi for his teachings in the 18th Century. He said that India and Tibet has ancient culture and history which preaches peaceful coexistence. He said that the people of Tibet were living with peace and brotherhood in the State of Himachal.  He thanked the State Government for their cooperation in the State to the people of Tibet residing here.Member of Parliament  Ram Swaroop Sharma said that Mandi town , which was also known as Choti Kashi for its rich cultural history was blessed to have organized this event. He said that the Union Government was considerate to construct Rail line upto Leh, which was of strategic importance to both India and Tibet.MPP and Power Minister  Anil Sharma, MLAs  Rakesh Jamwal,  Inder Singh Gandhi, Vinod Kumar and  Jawahar Thakur, Executive Chairman of the Manch  Harjit Singh Grewal, former Minister Punjab  Mohan Lal were present on the occasion among others.
