"With Narendra Modi becoming Prime Minister, Punjab will be benefitted the most, because he is having special bond with the Punjabis for his being BJP incharge of the state for a long time before becoming Chief Minister of Gujarat", SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal told the electorate while campaigning for party candidate Prof PS Chandumajra here today. Keeping that in mind, the Punjabis should ensure that all SAD-BJP candidates from Punjab should reach Parliament this time, Mr Badal added.Mr. Badal said the faulty policies of the Congress led UPA government at the centre had not brought about mess in all spheres including economy which has manifested in all time low value of Indian rupee in comparison of US dollar. He said the agriculture in Punjab and elsewhere had become an economically unviable profession driving the farmers to commit suicide as the long-term ruling party in the country, Congress had adopted anti-farmer to benefit the big business.
The SAD President said the Congress had rarely reviewed its anti-people policies reducing farmers to poverty and throwing out of business small traders, low-capital entrepreneurs and self-employers in service sector. As big capital tended to go in for a 'jobless growth', Congress policies generated no employment, resulting in thousand of educated youths hankering for job to life a worthwhile life imbued with self- respect, Mr Badal said.Such distortions in policy and governance delivery would be rectified within months of Narendra Modi assuming power in New Delhi, he said adding that ensuring the victory of Prof Chandumajra would, therefore, mean reversal of anti-people policies of Congress and putting the country back on rails of development.
"With NDA government at the centre we will be able to bring new projects for Punjab for achieving economic leap to occupy its earlier first position among the states", said Mr Badal while appealing the electorate to vote and support Prof Chandumajra."If you send me to Parliament, I, assure all of you, will get all pending issues cleared within weeks", Prof Chandumajra said.Chaudhry Nand Lal MLA, who is representing the Balachaur constituency in the state assembly affirmed full support to the SAD-BJP candidate. Apart from others Punjab Minister Mr. Madan Mohan MIttal, Punjab Mandi Board Chairman Ajmer Singh Lakhowal, Mohan Singh Banga, Zila and SGPC Member Gurbux Singh also addressed the election rally.
