A meeting of the Committee on Subordinate Legislation of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council was held under the chairmanship of MLC, Ashok Khajuria here today.Legislators, Naresh Kumar Gupta, S Charanjeet Singh and Vikram Randhawa gave their valuable suggestions to improve the functioning of the Committee and making it result oriented.The Committee held detailed discussions on the rules, regulations and Act of J&K Public Service Commission (PSC). It took serious view of the recently held preliminary examination conducted by the PSC, which was played by print and electronic media.The Committee said that on this account a large number of candidates were forced to go in litigation and the Court has also intervened into the matter. It further said that it was established that in this examination, a wrong key was applied which has raised many questions on the integrity of the PSC.The Committee desired that PSC should ensure that a copy of the minutes of whole proceedings be sent to the Committee in a sealed cover. It also sought a copy of fresh and old rules of the PSC. An enquiry report should also be furnished, besides Litigation expansion apprising the Committee about the procedure of legal expenditure.Secretary Law, Abdul Majid Bhat briefed the Committee about the rules, regulations and Act of Department.Among others, Special Secretary, Council, Mohammad Ashraf Wani, Additional Secretary GAD, Additional Secretary PSC, senior officers and officials of concerned department and Assembly Secretariat were present in the meeting.
