Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Law and Justice, Abdul Haq Khan on Saturday reviewed the implementation of various ongoing projects under different schemes in Lolab valley.DC Kupwara Khalid Jahangir, Chief Planning Officer Kupwara, Assistant Commissioner Development and other senior officers of the district attended the meeting.On the occasion DDC Kupwara briefed the Minister about the progress on various works being executed by different agencies in the district. It was given out that under the district plan, 30 works are under progress under education sector in Lolab valley, two under R&B sector, five under PHE sector and will be completed during this year.Besides, four composite model villages are being developed on modern lines at an estimated cost of Rs 60.81 crores. It was further informed that land has also been identified to establish one industrial estate in the Lolab Constituency.
Minister directed the officers to mobilise their men and machinery for completion of the ongoing works within stipulated time frame.The Minister impressed upon the concerned to work in coordination and with utmost dedication so that bottlenecks, if any, are removed at an earliest for completion of the ongoing development works by utilizing all available resources so that people are able to avail all the facilities as per their requirements and needs.Abdul Haq called on the officers to prioritize road connectivity, drinking water supply, irrigation facilities through creation of Water Harvesting tanks in Kandi areas, health facilities, Creation of infrastructure for sports activities, promotion of high-density plantation as per the area specific requirements .Later, various public deputations also called on the Minister and apprised him about the issues confronting them in day to day lives. He gave them a patient hearing and said that their projected demands would be addressed in a time-bound manner.
