Ludhiana College of Engineering & Technology, Katani Kalan organised  seminar on ill effects of drug addiction in a bid to create awareness among the youth. The main aim to conduct the programme was to inculcate the awareness among the students about the drug addiction with the sole objective to eradicate the drug menace from the state and convey the message that it is a disease that needs to be treated as early as possible. Addressing the students  Dr. Jarnail Singh, Principal LCET said that Drug menace in society is the biggest challenge for the youth and expressed deep concern over the growing addictions in the Society.Chairman LCET Vijay Gupta said that   there is not even a single benefit of using drugs except temporary illusion for a few hours whereas its harmful effects are countless. He highlighted that this habit starts with experimentation, prompted by friends. According to him awareness is key to minimize drug addiction. If the youth, especially in their teenage, are made aware of the fact that this experimentation can very soon make them dependent & finally drug addicts then they will definitely resist the temptation of tasting a drug for the sake of having a feel of its effect.
